Our Story

The origins of Maran Corporate Risk Associates date back to 1923 when the agency was established to provide Property and Casualty and Life Insurance to businesses and families on the East End of Long Island.

Through mergers and acquisitions the agency joined forces with several other agencies throughout the 1970s and 1980s and continued to grow and thrive in the local community. In 1988, we moved to our current headquarters in Southampton and over the next 15 years, grew to over 30 employees.

In March of 2003, Maran Associates and Corporate Risk Associates joined forces and became Maran Corporate Risk Associates (MCRA) creating an insurance agency that was poised to grow to be one of the top on Long Island.

Combined, our team has almost 90 years of industry experience. With the unity of Maran Associates' focus on personal and commercial accounts in Eastern Suffolk County and Corporate Risk's specialization on medium and large commercial clients in the tri-state area, we were able to broaden our resources and meet the diverse needs of our customers.

In 2004, MCRA opened the Philadelphia Regional office to better serve our New Jersey and Pennsylvania clients.

Today, MCRA employs almost 60 professionals and has grown to be the 12th largest insurance agency on Long Island. Our staff is dedicated to the company's success and participates in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

MCRA offers all areas of insurance: personal, commercial, employee benefits and life, as well as consulting and insurance program review.
